Why a neon bar sign does more than decorate

A bar lives and dies by atmosphere. Before a guest tastes a single drink they have already decided how the room feels, and few things set the mood faster than a glowing sign behind the counter. A neon bar sign gives your space a focal point, a memory and a photo spot in one piece. Guests share it, tag you in it and come back to the place that looks like that.

Every neonscribe bar sign is made to order from flexible LED neon. It has the soft, continuous glow of classic glass tubing, but it runs on low voltage, stays cool to the touch, uses very little power and is far tougher than glass. That makes it a sensible choice for busy venues as well as for a home bar where the sign will hang above the bottles for years.

Choosing the right colour, style and size

Colour. Warm white and amber feel like a classic tavern. Hot pink and electric cyan read as modern and energetic. Green and lime suit craft and tiki venues; red is unbeatable for a bar sign that needs to be noticed from a distance. Our size and colour guide walks through the trade-offs.

Lettering. Flowing script is friendly and hospitable. Block and marquee letters feel like a pub, a diner or a speakeasy. Rounded sans-serif faces read best from across a room.

Size. As a rule of thumb, allow the sign to fill roughly half to two-thirds of the wall space where it will hang. Compact signs around 12–20 inches wide suit a shelf or a nook; statement signs of 3 feet and above anchor a whole back wall.
